Gleevec has stopped working for me

The bad news is that Gleevec has stopped working for me. I have been taking Dasatinib for last 1 month but still I am facing the same problems. In last blood report my hemoglobin was down to 5.7 and WBC count was 1,700. platelets 4000 (normal 150000-400000). Again I was given a blood transfusion with 850ml of blood and 350ml of platelets. Now my Hemoglobin is 10.5 and i feel little good..

As per my doctor, BMT is the only hope for me... So I am preparing for my Bone Marrow Transplant.. It may cost INR 700,000-800,000. I don't know how much time it will take to arrange the money for me..

  1. Consider looking in Spain. When I was searching ( back in 2006 when I was Dx 'd ) I found something there. I'm sorry I have no specifics. How about Tasigna? I grew resistant to Gleevec after 2 1/2 - 3 yrs & started Tasigna. At first, I got intoxicated & had to suspend all meds for a couple weeks ( or die vuz I had kidney, heart & liver failure) .... Since then, June 2010, ove been on 1/2 dose at 200 mas / 12 hrs ... I have bone & joint pain big time and neuropathy as well & I take Lyrica for neuropathy & Tramadol for bone & joint pain - an opoid. I'm concerned about developing dependence but honest-to-goodness. So far, I haven't had a craving for the drugs because the pain comes before I get a chance to crave. I take 100 mgs of Tramadol every 8-12 hours - for pain. With this, I keep on going even though I am not sure how healthy it is to block out the pain to accomish my agenda (job as bread-winner & Mom & GrandmaM) ... I read once about the coca harvesters in Douth America & how they chew the leaves so they can work more even when they're tired, sick or hungry & I think Tramadol might have the same effect on me...
BUT for now, I stick with my current agenda.. I hope some of my experience is of use or at least interest to you...
Best wishes & God bless & all..,
