Gleevec has stopped working for me

The bad news is that Gleevec has stopped working for me. I have been taking Dasatinib for last 1 month but still I am facing the same problems. In last blood report my hemoglobin was down to 5.7 and WBC count was 1,700. platelets 4000 (normal 150000-400000). Again I was given a blood transfusion with 850ml of blood and 350ml of platelets. Now my Hemoglobin is 10.5 and i feel little good..

As per my doctor, BMT is the only hope for me... So I am preparing for my Bone Marrow Transplant.. It may cost INR 700,000-800,000. I don't know how much time it will take to arrange the money for me..

I was released from the hospital last night

It’s only today that I’m able to actually get to the computer.  For the past 20 days, I’ve had a terrible headache, bone pain, and a high fever.  My wife took me to the hospital on 8th July, as my pain was still relatively high.  That night, I was given a blood transfusion with 350ml of blood and 4 pts of saline liquid, I had no oxygen in my blood, my hemoglobin was down to 8 (normal 12-14) and my platelets was down to 0.26 (normal 1.5-4.0).

I'm back. I was released from the hospital last night. As far as activities are concerned, I'm trying to get back to my normal day as soon as possible.

A BLOG ABOUT MY LIFE AND TREATMENT OF CHRONIC MYELOGENOUS LEUKEMIA (CML). I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THIS RARE FORM OF CANCER ON MARCH 17, 2010.

I just turned 30. One of the hardest things I am having trouble wrapping my head around, asside from the facts of having Leukemia, is that I have not had any biological children, but I was planning on having some, and they told me i could never have any because of the medications but the fact is I really wanted to carry a biological child.

Really just feeling like I got hit by a train and thought I would come on here and maybe find some other people with it who might know what I am talking about.

I have told only close family and friends, some have gone into "super helper" mode, offering to take care of me etc, then there are the people who try to tell me its like having diabetes, (no, its diferent) and then the majority of them have looked like a dear in the headlights and just back away.

Asside from all that I am optimistic...in my way.
